What a good capture.Really good timing.The framing is also good.Too bad the bird in hand(no pun intended) wasn't facing the viewer.I'm guessing a 1/500th second shutter speed? A slight boost in saturation might bring out the colors more,and make it more appealing.Some USM might also add crispness to this very good image!Be proud.

Excellent DOF, fast shutter speed and model expression. Great luck too . Could the two lighter trees be toned down to allow the right gull to have the visual impact of the left bird? A darker tree would snap him right out to us.
