Good god, I am going to keep seeing this one in my dreams (or nightmares) for weeks to come. 'nuff said. The imagery is just too striking.
One minor thing I'd change is to rotate the image a bit counterclockwise, so that the "horizon" (even though it's just the bottom of the hill... please tell me that's so...) is, well, horizontal. That will make people doubt their sanity even more.

Marion, i see a fantastic shot here! The contrast of the bare trees on both
the white land and the red wall is excellent. The DOF is also fine keeping
everything in focus. I can only remark a slight inclination to the right,
but that's negligible on entire nice image.
Regards, Christoforos.

Excellent image!! The trees silhoutted against the red desert sands makes for a stunning contrast. I think the composition could be improved a bit by dropping the trees down into the lower third of the image. Keep up the great work.

Really good shot! Bizzare? Yes, but also abstract. I am not quite shure what it is, behind the trees - a diune? REgards Heniek

Hi Marion. Stunning, yet could be improved. have you thinked over modifying upper reddish part of the image by transforming it to be evenly horisontally allighned, you just need to have 3 o degrees counterclock wise movement on it i guess. may be this is not the best option but i would definatly tried to do so. what do you think? in PS you can easily do it leaving the tree position unchanged:
select>all, than edit>transform>distort.
ok. enough of technicality. let me carry on with the image critique. this red dune looks like a massive 'hard' stolen sky massive. and frankly it just makes you jiggle. Dried Up Tree is always, always an interesting object to catch. and it is proved again on this image. very good. let me also tell you that the your Lens is also very solid and perfecto! :) looking for that one myself. you can check the similiar form of the dried up tree on one of my old photograph right here: http://www.photosig.com/go/photos/view?id=1091008

He Marion - this is a wonderful image. It looks like an abstract painting. The composition is good. The colors are strong, but they are looking a little bit unreal - have you made them stronger in PS? Whatever - I like it very much. Best regards - Tom.

Excellent photo, my only comment is that there is a lack of sense of the proportions, even somehow a vertigo. The reason is that it looks like a normal tree and a wall in the background, but this would make it either a very small tree or a huge wall....really confusing. Some familliar object or a person/animal could give more sense of proportions.

Ori, thanks for your critique... It is a huge wall. An enourmous huge sand dune... They are the biggest in the world... Some of them up to 300 Meters...

Brilliant title for this awesome photograph. I love the textures, especially the bubbly surface on the dune/hill behind the trees, and the stark contrast of colours. Beautiful.

Looks too abstract to be real, yet it is, very interesting composition, full of diferent layers of detail and colour. It takes an artist to see a composition like this, well done

You've got some wonderful shots in your Namibia portfolio. This shot is nice and sharp with good DOF. Nice texture on the dune. I guess you were fit enough (or had someone else fit enough) to carry a tripod in!
Personally I think the trees might look better not overlapping. Also I preferred the parts of the vlei where the clay wasn't broken up.

Hi Marion, I like this composition, it seems a surreal picture, the twisted trees with the roots to the outside make me think about something of tragedian, but the warm colors and the neatness make me think about something happy, mixture result well. Compliments. Eugenio

Powerful and striking shot. Combines simple yet strong elements wonderfully to tell a story. The desolation depicted here is slightly off-set by the beauty of the scene itself, mainly by the colourful dunes. Very enjoyable work, one for the wall. Regards.

This is graphically beautiful with the orange colour in the background and the trees 'bizarre dance' against it. Well seen landscape view and good picture quality, too. I don't know if I wouldn't like a little crop at both the top and the bottom. Great work. Regards.

I have always liked desertlandscapes like this. The dead trees give good contrast over the red and white sands. Composition is ok, but I think I would have liked to seen it in landscape-format, and with the two trees a bit further apart. And perhaps even a bit of blue sky, but thats a completely different picture :)

Absolutely stunning, with a very appropriate title. Technically I find it difficult to tell where the dramatic scene ends and where image processing starts, but the overall effect is great just the same. Compositionally, I find the half vertical split to be good rule-breaking.

You've got tremendous color and texture in this shot. The black silhouette of the tree against the start background tells the story of the landscape in which this was shot. Great work!
