Hi Jean-Pierre. I am starting to get an idea of just how difficlt these shots are! i am not too sure that B&W works as well as colour with this type of shot. Also, i am not sure whether you sharpened this in PS, but if so, it looks a little oversharpened to my eyes. The highlights on the branch also look a little blown out. I wonder whether you could tweak them back in PS using curves, or possibly in a re-scan. Thanks for posting! Best wishes - Simon

You are right about sharpening and excessive contrast, that's to be put down to me using a scanner which is much more effective with colour slides (so I'm told). As for using B&W, I have to disagree partially; nice BW pictures of birds can be achieved (I'm not saying this one is nice, it is in fact my first attempt). My aim here is not in the least to document the species, but to convey an atmosphere ...
