My only suggestion and this is purely a preference thing would be to clone out the facial blemish under the eye. This photo has the feel of an anti-suicide or depression medication advertisement (meant as a compliment).

Very simple and elegant. I like the Square frame for this one.. Great concept.

I love this shot, the woman looks almost fake. She seems stunned as if she is dead on the inside. Great way to capture this emotion.

I love this image. It provokes so much feeling from the viewer. You wonder if she is alive even. She seems almost like a doll or fabricated item. I love the study of the shadows across the face and the shape that the light makes across the nose and the eyes. Great negative space. People tend to want to fill up the entire image with information and this breaks that concept. Great work.

I just have to say that I love this photo. The cold colour is changed by her expression and the lighting into something thoughtful and calming.

Its like she is in the darkness of life but there is a light infront of her that she can go to, to become free from the darkness. the light work is so graceful, it puts you in a sad mood, making feel bad for the girl, nice shot

I must say this is the first time I have given anyone 3 thumbs up! I really love the subtle lighting and how you give the viewer just enough to complete the mood. this image would be so so dramatic if it were large...as in wall size! for my wall of course.... Cheers!

Well done, a crisp and clear image. Nice depths as well as the models mood! I like the colour used. One thing, i do think the lighting unde the left eye is a bit overpowering.

the mood is outstanding... she seems to be sad... but yet shying away from the light... due to not wanting to be seen... the only thing i would change as i said before would be perhaps the lighting of the nose... well done....

Simple, yet very elegant; the use of negative space is fantastic. I like your model's expression, she seems to be lost in thoughts. Excellent image, congratulations.

Very atmospheric, nicely lit and exposed. The picture might be improved by showing more (or less) of the right eye and either hiding the mole on the left cheek in shadow or making more of a feature of it - but its hard to know for sure.

Hello Elizabeth,

Management of the very effective light and good choice of the blue tonality! Would Personnelement, like Eldon, I have to appreciate to better see the eye (or eyes?) as well as the mouth of the model but I greet your choice of composition which functions perfectly. Good Job.

Best regards.

Very effective use of simplistic lighting to create a mood. Good expression captured, and nicely presented.

To an amateur like myself this looks like a technically very adept work. It's certainly beyond anything I've ever tried. I suspect you were very deliberate with your lighting, and held this image in your imagination before achieving it. Nice work.

I admire the skill you have used to produce this moody shot. On a personal level I would have liked the eyes to have been more clearly seen and also the lips and chin. But you have set yourself a target to produce this image and done it very well.It has a haunting quality that is very commendable.Excellent framing.Good work Elizabeth.

Thanks everyone for comments and advice. This was near a window..I used a black colored filter to remove the background and added the blue spotlight for mood. I left a little space on left to give the feeling of someone in the dark..Regards,,Elizabeth

this picture is excellent... it captures a sense of seriousness... and the sense of feeling sad... the way the light hits her face is beautiful... perhaps the one thing i would change. is the lighting on the sid of her nose it almost appears to be a triangular shape... other than that well done... bravo...
