The symphonic metal band Within Temptation performing at the Waldrock festival. When the flame throwers went off I was just changing film. Though another act had started on the other stage I decided to stick here. I expected them to use the flame throwers again in the encore. The gamble paid off.

You capture this moment very well, and you are right about cashing in on your gamble. Very dramatic shot. I have a comment about your portfolia in general regarding your choice of image size. If what I am reading is true, more than 60% of your viewers are having to use the scroll bar to see your pictures. Jpeg compression is 72 dpi and you can't control that. Why not use a maximum pixel height of about 600 so the majority of your viewers can see your work full frame? Great picture!

Lights, action, mayhem..... Great photo Arjen. I think this is what band photography is about. Anticapating the moment then catching it. Well done. Is this a croped image? I would love to see a full stage shot of this happening. Keep clicking. Peter.

It is a crop, but there was just some black nothing on the bottom.
