Taken in the final moments before a mock battle at Irish Fest, 2002. The squire's hand bothers me, but I haven't been able to remove it and make it look credible, either. These people put on quite a show. They use hand made weapons (the blades are of titanium for "the nice ring") and armor, very serious performers. I posted a black and white version last week; thought I'd try color, a pretty fair amount of manipulation to get the metallic sheen the way I wanted and to come up with these tones. Thanks for viewing.

Yes, the squire's hand... It disturbs me too! Did you try to make it blurred (in PS with a mask)? If yes then not enough. So it stands alone and looks a bit like the "ice cold hand of the Adams Family". *grin* Otherwise the pose of the knight is great! Wow! He looks like he prays in preparing for the battle! And I like the colored version more than the b/w-version. The colors are not too flashy, and the metallic gloss and the reflections give the pic a nearly b/w-effect. Regards, Bellis.

I remember the black and white version. While the B&W was nice color isn't bad at all, as a matter of fact it's much better than I wthought it would be. I agree about the hand, it is too bad...Dean

I agree with you on the hand. I like your colors and compo of the subject but the way the background and the helmet almost blend really detracts from the overall shot. You did a good job on the metal!

hi. thanks. i used a flaming pair plug-in called 'mr contrast' to get the result. i only wish i had been able to shoot this with the canon i bought days later; i think a raw file might have helped out with the blown highlights and high contrast. thanks for stopping.
