Tight and Apex'n! Found this in a shoebox of Bobby Rahal on his way to victory at a 1987 IMSA race in Columbus, Ohio. Archieval maybe, but the adrenaline was pumpin' on this side of the guardrail also standing this close to the action. Taken at the 35mm setting as he drove under my right elbow!

A true cover shot if I have ever seen one. Just great. Now on to the despression of missing the old IMSA GTP car days. Wow those were awesome. For some reason the current crop of ALMS cars doesn't seem as great even though they are really good. Thanks for sharing.

Great action capture. I had to look twice to make sure the car was actually that close to the rail. Makes my adreniline pump just looking at it.

nice to see this. i sure do miss imsa. we never hosted imsa around here, but had a trans am race a few years. heaven. this image makes me reminisce about all the great times spent at the track and watching from home, collecting and reading. most will never know the thrill of being this close to a car at speed.
