The lack of space at the top is a negative as is the unsharpness of the most critical area of the eyes . The fact is , nothing is truly sharp due I suspect toany one or combination of the following ; auto focusing while up close , camera shake , too wide an f/stop for the d.o.f. required or a lens incapable of delivering a sharp image at so short a sensor to subject distance . My overall opinion ; prime lenses are best for portraiture .
