I like it uncropped. Leaving the space below the little fighter keeps a balance with the dark area above, and I would hate to see any of the darkness cut out as his antanae fade off into that blackness. To have that cropped would make him feel far more compressed in the space, though cropping could give him a desperate quality, seeming as though there was nowhere to go...
I find this piece to be lighthearted, and the insect to have dancerly qualities that evoke a fluidity of movement, even in this stillness. nice work.
It's so hard to capture the fine details when the depth of field is so shallow, but, *shrug* I haven't been able to work around that when shooting macro. I'd love to see a little more crispness on the extended left arm, but appreciate the crispness of the right arm, and find the focal depth only slightly distracting.
