Well, I had decided it wasn't worth upgrading my old 100mm f/2.8 Macro, but your images just blows me away. Lighting and color are outstanding. Perfect focus. Was this taken using the IS? Have you any experience with the old version of the lens, and how does this compare?

the composition seems odd to me. It is not centered or follows the rule of 3rds. But the focus is sharp and colors pop!

I like the angle and dof is fine to me. Sharpness is good on one eye but not the other. good idea just needs a little work!

Hi Norman, a very beautiful shot with perfect focus, sharpness and good DOF. Composition, colors and contrast are great. With your lens you have a must. Just a little crop may be would emphasize more the butterfly. Thank you for sharing. Ciao Francesco

I like the tight crop for this butterfly Yasser, but a little more headroom and some space on the left side is preferred. Good sharpness, exposure and coloring on the butterfly wing but I think some more details can be rescued on the head part, particularly on the eye by PS shadow tool.
Cheers......Edwin

A nice catch Norman, but I think a tighter crop could help to bring in more impact by delivering more details on the subject whilst eliminating those brighter green and pink in the background that draw away my attention. A little too far on sharpening I think, evident from the icy pixelation on the butterfly wing texture.
Cheers......Edwin

Great subject, rendered impeccably. Maybe a little extra at the top could be cropped, but I see substantially nothing negative.

Good Job Martin. First I like your Idea as its a bit rare here. Second, you adjusted well photo frame. The wall strip is kept almost the same all over the image while ground is expanding from left to right. I just wish you could move a bit left or right to capture both images completely or take right image and the wall notes together. Good Luck. Mehrdad

Alper, its excellent landscape shot. Its clear and sharp. As HDRI, I expect brighter colors. So, for this I prefer resubmitting in B&W too. Contrast of your photo is quite enough to do that. Other aspects like frame adjustment and camera angle and the way land goes to the right side of frame are great. Good Luck. Mehrdad

Hello Geoffrey. Very good idea but I think the head of the model has been cut too much and DOF is too much also. Focus is on her left eye. Right eye and her chin are blurry. Her leg is not definite at all. It might have been blurry a little but this is too much I guess. Regards. Alper

Masliono, this is nice photo of yellow flower. Its sharp and well exposed. Just I wish it had shallower DOF to make busy background blurry. Besides, shadows are distracting. But flower itself looks great and attracts eyes. Regards, Mehrdad

Good job, especially we have seen less photos from Cuba than the other countries. Exposure is fine. I think you used high ISO due to few noises in a BG. The far left car is distracting. camera angel is rightly adjusted. Regards. Mehrdad

Excellent capture here, Stephen, especially considering the many difficulty factors. The manner with which the dome leans backward is yet another feature that both pleases and appeals. The glow emanating from the lamps, the contrasting colors between top and bottom, and especially, those vintage cars that the Cuban cabbies manage to maintain in running condition all add up to a wonderfully exciting photo. Congratulations!
