As above, the sweater is brighter than the model's face which is not good. Also seems there's no detail in hair at all unless it's my monitor. I like the pose and black and white which gives the picture a nice mood.

Hi Keijo. I do agree with the previous critiques regarding the colors and sharpness. But what dusturbs most ist the horizontal misalignment of the lines. I always try to correct it in my head and that takes me away from the picture. It is a pity. Greets Didi

I like the combination of the stark straight lines of the building with the softer irregular lines of the tree. The B&W treatment gives a pleasing end-result. The only points that bug me a little is that I would crop the left side to get a totally symmetrical pattern (ie both sides start with a vertical pillar)and to my taste I think the contrast is a touch too high allowing a bit of washed out features in the top left and some detailless blacks towards the lower left (I...

Hi Keijo. Nice attempt. I like it but there are some point to mention. It is not perfectly sharp and has a reddish tint. The frame does not work very well. The wood should be horizontally aligned with the frame. that is what disturbs my eyes most. good composition. Thanks for sharing. Greets Didi

Good capture, well positioned. The frame helps give the entire subject more focus. My only gripe is displacing the title, which I would have left it off completely.

Interesting textures, however I miss some sort of focal point. Perhaps due to size, but I fail to recognize what this photo is about.

Wonderful flow of the steps but those posts cutting across them ruin the essence of the image Raivis. This needs re-shooting hence the 2TD rating. Regards, Ian.

The pattern of the wood and the composition are interesting, but I feel there are two major flaws: The image is not sharp (maybe shot handheld?) The colors should be more vibrant and contrast higher This could create a powerful abstract image.

Of course a subject worth photographing, but I think you overlooked some compositional and technical aspects. The image is a bit blurry (looks like slight motion blur) and the depth of field is too shallow. The frame is also cropped very tightly and there are no other elements in the composition to convey a message. In this sense, the picture fails to transmit me a mood.

Welcome to photoSIG Valentin. I hope you enjoy & benefit from your participation here & that you do lots of crits which are the lifeblood of the site. We don't see many scanned images here these days & what is notable is the mid tones are better than many scans I've seen. What is notable is a general softness which might be due to the scan or it might be due to the effects of resizing for submission here. Either way the figure isn't soft, he...

Very interesting subject and technically perfect. I feel the crop could be more tight, and probably having the subject perfectly centered would be a good idea in this situation, as there is no other element in the composition.

I actually find this very artistic and pleasing. I like the black and white shapes. Nice photo in my opinion.
