Great photo. It's a soothing feeling by looking at it, and there is a harmony about the color and composition. Thanks for sharing.

Well done! Great sharpness and clarity, the lighting is fantastic. Gorgeous model. The eye is a little too centered for my liking. I would prefer seeing more of her head, putting that eye on the third. However, it is very nice and that's just a matter of personal taste.

The totality of this image is very strong. An unusual gathering of colors on a tactile surface. Seems to be an homage to the nearing of Spring and the new life it brings. It's the kind of mystery that's ok if you don't figure out because the value it adds to your soul by just viewing it. Very well seen my friend and I do like it a lot. Thanks for sharing.

In portraiture, the number one most important thing you can do (okay, maybe not number one, but it's way up there) is to be very careful to make your model as beautiful as she possibly can be. Small things, like making sure that little roll under her left arm isn't showing or is tucked in make a difference. You've emphasized it by adding light right there. Also, have your model look slighly up at you, it makes the eyes bigger and the chin look more flattering. Also a...

A very unique portrait of the seemingly lovely model. Love the soft slop of her shoulder that can be followed up to her gentle face and across her lips. Good DOF and a very strong image all around. Thanks for sharing.

Ken, interesting shot, with lots of good things, and lots of opportunity. I think what works best in this shot is how she is posed, and the costume, as it were. Both are good, although I think it would have been more powerful if the model had been looking straight into the camera. I see the catch lights, so a flash must have been used. I do agree with the others, in that the grain seems a bit overdone. With a flash you could have used a lower ISO. I guess the one...

Really a great minimal high key smoke image that needs nothing but a matte and frame to make it complete. Nice color against the stark white background and the smoke is behaving nicely for you. Thanks for sharing,

Nice capture of this Northern Jay. It has nice color on him. Not easy to get him because of the snow and the tree in the background. And I think this is a well done shot. The lighting seems good because there were not harsh light. Was it still snowing when you took the shot?? -- Thanks for sharing. -- Regards, Charles

Hi Kelsie. There may be something to this, but it wasn't conveyed. This particular image doesn't work. The use of high ISO introduced amounts of noise, the light caused the lens to flare, the image simply washed out. For a night shot it is better to use low ISO speed and longer exposure. Use a tripod to keep the camera steady. It can be nice from point of view of colors, but it didn't happen in the image.

David your work is very strong and certainly unique. This is another strong image that demands attention by the viewer. Otherworldly maybe, but definitely some sort of a portal into a another place. The surreal blue contrasted against the soft brown bark with perfect DOF leaves the viewer wanting to walk down that path. Peaceful and pleasant to view. Thanks for sharing.

I still like this picture but, and it could just be personal preference here and I'm sure these are the colors that were there to capture, I would still really like to see the colors pop a bit more. The green is a tad too yellow for my tastes and having actually copied and played with it in Photoshop a bit, the color needs a little more contrast with the walls. There are gaps in the stone that you can see the grass through which are difficult to see here but very easy to...

The backlighting is nice and the pose is good. It's quite soft though, with the point of sharp focus seemingly on the jacket and not on her eyes. The lighting isn't doing much to add dimension to her face. It's quite flat in that area, and unfortunately that damages the image. Her face needs more sharpness, contrast and clarity. Also if she were facing just slightly more toward the camera, it would make her far eye look much more flattering.

I am enjoying this shot a lot. The effect of the three vertical elements all more or less crossed by the diagonal is quite nice. And don't underestimate the appeal that grey has on some observers. Mies van der Rohe wrote, "Less is more." Ha. I am definitely a "More is More." viewer. eek

This has the makings of a very strong image. The atmosphere is full of mystery and moody street lit subjects make this an interesting story. It lacks some sharpness and may suffer some because of it. Still strong though and worry of a second look. Thanks for sharing.

A lot of magic happening here. You have nice color combined with the fog which helps to evoke deep feelings of mystery and suspense. I think the extra amount of grain in the shot is a bit of a distraction. You may have been looking for this and it's just a matter of preference. Thanks for sharing.
