Wine has long been included in images of human existence. In photography, wine has often found it's way into the images of classic french photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Willy Ronis. Contemporary Photographer Rodney Smith will frequently use vineyards as backgrounds in his fine art and advertising photos. At the moment, the movie Sideways has increased the profile of wine in popular culture.

As usual, there is the discussion of what qualifies a photo for the assignment. This one should be fairly simple: Photos of wine can be bottles of wine, glasses of wine, vineyards and wineries. Examples of what is not wine could be: Beer, Vodka, flowers, lonely boats or sunsets that don't include wine or vineyards. If you post photos of grapes, please put them in some kind of wine context. Please don't post photos of wine coolers. Wine coolers are really awful. Photos should include some kind of interaction with people or identifiable parts of people. Kittens, running dogs (or any kind of dogs) ducks or zoo animals are some examples of things that don't count as people.
