Some information on what this is about can be found here.
This round was a theme-round like the last one.
Thanks for participating!

Game Status: Finished.

"My initial shot refers to the subject 'secrets'." |
 ---
|
| terbergk/Kees |
"I assume that the theme is a snail-mail love letter. Being unable to
acquire a simple envelope I turned to a bottle. ;¬)
" |
---
|
| schauder/Jens | "I decided the theme is 'Fake message in a bottle'" |
 ---
|
| molter/Marco | "Theme: The Police, 'Message in a bottle'. Since I hadn't a toy Police car,
I used a big bee, to mean 'sting' ;-) Minimalist composition." |
 ---
|
| Randem | "In the previous image I saw a message in a bottle, which I interpreted as
a theme of communication. To continue on that theme, I carried over the
recycling of a food container for use in communication by building the
classic 'soup can telephone'. Since I received the whisper about an hour
after my models left last night, I was stuck working with a ham -- myself.
Some people belong BEHIND the lens, not in front of it" |
 ---
|
| steveinvictoria/Steve | "I interpreted the last photo as 'old fashioned communications'.
Sometimes, even with all the most modern hi-tech gear at our disposal, a
good old fashioned letter is hard to beat..." |
 ---
|
| matt/Matt | "I saw the computer vs the paper as old vs new, and considered it the
theme. The cell phones vs the desk phone also hinted at the same idea.
I left the candle in my version because it was there on the desk and I
didn't feel like moving it, and because it refelcted in the table, as the
paper did in the screen of the previous shot.
I think the EOS 1 vs Vivitar XV-3 both with their respective 50mm primes
and the USB data pen vs the floppy disk echo the theme. The floppy is not
very visible but is in front of the Canon.
" |

|
| suzi/Suzi | "I couldn't tell what was in front of the two cameras on the whisper sent
to me so I assume the 2 cameras are the main subject. From cameras we get
pictures or art, as we do with paints and brushes. So the theme is art." |
 ---
|
| jfdavis58/John | "To me this says something about the start of a new creation; the neat
groupings of carefully selected colors, some pattern or inspiration to
draw forth a new idea, a clean palette, and fresh with unmixed
color/media; a new beginning. There are some interesting anomalies as
well: primary colors in even rows might signify a beginner, yet the choice
of medium and type imply great experience. And then there is the finished
piece peeking from the corner: inspiration or emulation? And what looks
like a book: a sketchbook where an idea grew, a similar pattern to grow
upon, or simple instructions for a beginner? Much to think about, hmmm..." |

| "Theme: Tools of the trade/craft
I first made a shot of some of my photo gear, even though it mimicked the
composition of the previous shot nicely I wondered if somebody might have
already done that, so here are the tools of the trade that I make my money
with: computer programming." |

Well, due to my vacation, he will have some more time to think about it. Results will be posted on 16th when I'm back. Stay tuned, it's once again a very interesting round ;-)

Bugger, I was really far off the mark... I love the way the whisper progressed though. Nice work all of you who participated and sorry for throwing everyone so far off the track... Nice one Oliver! This was a great round!

What a great progression! The funny thing is, the person I showed my whisper to came up with old vs new that Matt was conveying to me and I kind of pishawed that and that is what it was. I guess I sent it in a way different direction...
