Hi
Has anyone had this problem, I have cleaned the sensor on my canon EOS 1D mkII with a recommended bulb blower but for some reason I keep getting bits of stuff after using the camera and it needs blowing out again,I think that it must be something breaking down and then becoming loose in the chamber.

umm,, seems like a blower will just move the dust off the sensor until it returns, I have an Artic Butterfly where you spin that builds up static charge on a brush, and than brush across lightly across the sensor, but lately, I been using the self cleaning function, and than when that fails, pay for the professional cleaning (120 dollars).
definitely a weak spot of the digital slr.

Thanks
I did pay to have it cleaned in my local camera shop and they gave it back leaving me to believe that it was clean and when I got it home and gave it try-out the sensor was dirtier than when it went in to them, even after bulb blowing the sensor clean I am still getting particles on the sensor I have lost all faith in their workmanship and am afraid to return the camera for them to re do the cleaning in case they ruin it completely.
BTW this is all within hours of the job being done.

Did you check references or reviews of them before you took it to them? Are they reputable and legit? If so, they may be embarrassed that they let you down and would love the opportunity to make it right. I don't think it's fair to completely write them off after just the one visit. I would give them a chance to make things right. If they screw up a 2nd time, then it's time to look for some place else. Just my .02.

Hi Tim
they have a number of photographic shops in Wales UK
They had their chance first time round when I enquired if they done sensor cleaning on DSLR cameras and I was told yes they do.
I put my camera in to them because there were two spots on the sensor that would not blow off with a bulb blower, I paid up front for the clean and was told to collect the camera in an hour, they did not need my lens or the memory card as they used their own, I collected the camera and was told they blew it out and used an Arctic brush, soon as I got home I put my lens on and card in to give it a try-out only to find the "two marks" still there plus a lot of dust and what looked like fibre on my sensor when viewed on my PC.
when I phoned them I was assured 100% that the marks were removed plus excuses , obviously not removed
as I find it a big coincident that the two marks are in the same place and identical to previous shots taken before a sensor clean.
I would not have even given my camera to them if I had known that they would use a brush that had more than likely been used in many other cameras probably causing the extra dirt on my sensor.
