Dear photoSIG friends,
for many years now I'm not only describing the world around me as a journalist but also interpreting it as a photographer - taking closer views on textures and transformations, resulting in images that sometimes may remind of abstract paintings. However it is photography, processed but not manipulated and hardly arranged. After my first public exhibition in a Berlin gallery 2009/10 I'm happy to announce and invite you to another presentation of my shots on the occasion of "Kulturelle Landpartie" (Cultural Outing) in the German Wendland area.
If anyone of you happens to be in the North of Germany between Ascension Day and Pentecost 2012 (May 17 to 28) I'd be glad to welcome you to my exhibition. You can find me and my photos in the village of Kuesten in the barn of friends who are living in a traditional farmhouse from 1777 (An der Kirche 11, 29482 Kuesten), daily from 11 am to 8 pm. Looking forward to meet you there! Uli

If no cropping has changed the proportions 50 x 75 centimeters for the most (newer) images, appr. 50 x 65 for few older shots. The shorter side will always be 50 cm. Additionally to the photos on display buyers may order prints in larger formats.

They have been photographically printed and mounted on aluminium composite panels with suspension attachments on the backside, so customers may frame and glass them to their needs and taste or just hang them on their wall as they are. Next to about 25 large formats hanging there will be some more images on screen display with the possbility to order those as well. Every photo is limited to 3 prints ever sold. Additionally I've printed a selection of postcards for sale during the exhibition and in those to come. Thanks for your good wishes!

In fact I have been experimenting with direct printing on the aluminium (ink jet, 6 colors) but the result was quite disappointing: Not only was the surface uneven as the (necessarily) unevenly distributed color droplets were creating an unevenly distributed rough texture on the metal, the overall image also appeared flat compared to real photographic printing and the color was quite different from what I considered real or representative.
