I thought my G9 would last for ever. Now I find the chip has a few specs on it. Ugh? This is a closed apparatus. So that shouldn't happen, I thought. Think again. Dirt got in. So how do I get it out? Or don't I? Give it to the authorized ones? Cost? Any experience here with that kind of trouble? Hate to give up this workhorse. Thanks for your thoughts. Luc

From stmv/Sebastian (59,795) on April 23, 2012 12:34:05 PM CDT I would think Canon support would be the best to contact, your other option is to contact a Pro Sho that does in house sensor cleaning, Since some shops do work on compacts, and I would think they can clean them (since when they service them, they most likely always clean them, should be a minor expense (my guess would be around 80 dollars).
