I've received spam from Hotmail accounts from friends in different parts of the world this week. No subject line but with a link that has the word "themes" somewhere in it. Run software to check for bots, virus, adware to wemake sure your computer is clear. I run AVG antivirus, Spybot search and destroy, Ad-Aware, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. All are free. Changing your password is the most obvious thing to do. Sending a mail to everyone telling them your account has been used for spam would be another step.

My Yahoo e-mail was hacked, and everyone in my address book was sent spam from my address. I changed the password to one rated "strong" and I haven't had any trouble since.

When Yahoo accounts get hacked, a common practice is for the hacker to change the "Reply-To" address in your settings. That would allow you to send emails out to others and they would receive them, but if they replied back, it would go to the hacker. Might want to check *ALL* your settings in Yahoo Mail just to make sure you're completely clear... :)

Hi Istanbullu!

I must be  in your addressbook as I also received spam-mail from your account (wrote you an email about it last Saturday.)

I suggest to run an antispy software on your computer like

Ad-Aware

and change your password immediately afterwards when the scan is completed .

and maybe even delete your email account if necessary.

Cheers, Karin
