I have entered my city's online photo contest. One of my 8 entries is actually in 3rd place. As this is one of the "popularity" types, where there's only one winner and it's based solely upon the number of votes recieved, I'm asking for help in getting more votes. This is a city website so there is no spam. There's also no joining, no questions are asked, no hassle or drama. Takes about 10 seconds start to finish. My entry is titled simply "SEA WORLD", two words. The voting area is found at the bottom, in alphabetical order. I encourage you to look at and see if you like the photo, though, before voting, to see if you feel it's worthy of a vote. It's on page 4 at LINK. The theme is basically how to have fun in the Summer months in Florida (the premise was originally to promote fun things to do to boost tourism). I would very much love to beat the #1 and #2 entries ("Playing at Jim Jeffer's Park" and "A Tough Day In Paradise"), if at all possible. Either way, I thank you for your time in reading this. ~TS Added: The top three have over 500 votes, mine included, while the rest of them have less than 40 so barring an act of God, none of the rest really stand much of a chance to win that iPad.

That's a spectacular catch. It's hard to believe the dolphin was that high in the air. I would have liked to see more of the dolphins at the bottom of the picture. 2TU. (you got my vote)

Rich, in looking at it, I was astounded, too. While there, I didn't really think about it. Just came and went without much notice to height. It wasn't until seeing the pix later that I saw the air he/she got. It was my first time at Sea World. I was there to photograph the day of a "Make-A-Wish" child for the family. It was truly a beautiful and amazing day, all the way around.

I have done my little bit for you ;-) It was good fun to look through such series... but you still have a good challenger there!

I sometimes wonder if this is fair, to ask for votes in such a manner. (I did vote for your shot, and actually found a couple more of your shots while looking around)
A few years ago on a different and more active forum community. A member asked for votes in a contest for her niece. A photographer did some shots for kids and posted them, then asked for votes on the favorites. The winner received an iPod or something.
"Our" girl won big time. The other kids had mom and dad and a few family members voting. The winner had votes in the thousands. The photographer tried to fix the issue by allowing only one vote per IP. But what he learned the second time "our" girl won, was that it was really individual votes.
It wasn't all that fair in a popularity contest, as we really didn't know the girl. I am sure the other kids had to carry a complex for the rest of their lives knowing that they were only 0.2% as popular as our girl.
Hopefully everyone that visits the site will look at the photos and vote accordingly. And... good luck... you still had a ways to go when I voted.
