Please join me in congratulating anapt/Simon , whose photo *** was chosen as the Photo of the Week for November 8 - 14. One of our jurors remarked, "Haunting, disturbing, and ominous only begin to describe the emotional impact of this piece. I’m going to have nightmares." The ability of this photograph to strike a nerve with viewers stood out this week. Another described it thusly, "Moody, enigmatic black and white image of poetic beauty." It certainly was interesting to see that people have can have almost polar opposite experiences when viewing this image.

The Photo of the Week was selected by an anonymous jury process involving six of your photoSIG peers. To be considered for Photo of The Week, a photographer must have submitted 10 conforming critiques within the week of the photo's submission. Individual jury members nominated photos that were submitted between November 8 and 14. These photos were then voted upon by the entire jury in order to select the Photo of the Week. This week, we also had nominations from the categories of Flower, Macro, and Architecture.

Thanks again to our jury for their efforts.

Congratulations, Simon! It's an incredible photo, and I find it, as well as the rest of the photos in your portfolio, to be so inspiring to me. You definitely deserve this recognition. :)
