I posted this question yesterday but the discussion driefted away. I guess I've understood the main differences and I think it's going to be a big chance but a good one. I also feel the need to improve my photographic skills and here that's becoming more and more difficult... My only question is: when can we expect the changes to take effect?

It's expected to happen on or around 1 March. I don't know how firm Willis is on that.

Is PhotoSig V2 the same as ArtSig? If so, will PhotoSig the way it exists today still exist? Might be a good idea to keep it around in case V2 flops. In fact, that would be the true test of V2's success ... if people actually migrate to it over the original PSig on a voluntary basis.

as far as i understand, artsig has the same engine as photosig 2. i'm not a beta for photosig 2 though. and the conversion back shouldn't be that hard. as a hollow thumb still has the amount given, it's just worth zero in v2, if it's a bad crit. so i think it would be reversable. but i doubt it would be. it's a large adjustment to get used to. but it will remove all the spammers, cut and pasters, blank thumbs, back slappers, etc - completely.
