Chat Information

Get to know your fellow photoSIG members.

There are two different ways to access the photoSIG chat room:

  1. You can use any IRC client, such as XChat, mIRC, Chatzilla or Colloquy. Just connect to irc.procrast.net and join the #photosig channel. After logging in, it is suggested that you register your nickname with NickServ, by typing:

       /msg nickserv register yourchosenpassword optionalemailaddress

The reason you should provide your email address here is to make it possible to retrieve your password if you forget it. It won't be used for spam. After you have your nick registered with NickServ, you will need to identify yourself with Nickserv each time you join. To do this, simply type:

       /msg nickserv ident yourpassword
  2. You can use the browser-based Java version by simply typing your name in below and entering the chat. If you don't have the Java plugin, you can download it here for free.

The photoSIG chat room was created by volunteers (namely Ben) and is moderated by volunteers. If you need any help with chat, feel free to email Ben or Chris, the chat room moderators.

Note:
Please be patient, the first time you use this chat it will download the approximately 150 KB Java Applet to your computer. When it attempts to run you may be presented with a warning about an "unsigned applet" from "Philippe Detournay" (The program's author) and asking you if you would like to accept it. It is safe to run, so check the "always trust" box, accept the certificate and start chatting!
